The top of the dome shape has a short rounded door knob shape that is connected to the chain that helps you hang it up. There is a bulb holder in the upper center of the metal shade which is encassed in a metal cage. The thin metal cage is in a matte black color and gives a very industrial feel to the whole look of this hanging light.
